New work at GEZE – we are implementing hybrid, flexible workplace models

The working world has changed fundamentally in recent years, and companies needed to react quickly to keep up with the new challenges. At GEZE, we are proud to say we see these changes as an opportunity, and that we have developed a wide range of hybrid working models that enrich the lives of all of our employees.

Flexibility at GEZE

Flexibility is a top priority at GEZE. We have realised there is no longer just one “right” way to be productive. Because of this, we offer our employees the option of designing their own everyday schedules. Whether at the office, from home, or via flex time – at GEZE, colleagues are able to balance their work and personal lives and react flexibly to professional or private changes. Eliminating the need to commute not only gives employees more free time, but also helps ensure a more liveable future. Working from home saves greenhouse gases that would be emitted while commuting to the office. Nevertheless, the office remains the central meeting point. GEZE supports sustainable mobility options like public transportation, electric bikes and electric cars to travel to the office.

At GEZE, we put the principle of hybrid, flexible work into practice. That means we are always developing our services alongside our colleagues.

Working from home …

For most of our employees, the choice between mobile work and the office is not “either - or”, but rather “both - and”. The model offers lots of advantages for anyone who can do their work from home. Often, mobile work offers a calmer environment for the kinds of work that require peace and quiet, like conceptual work, and allow for better concentration. Digital tools needed for remote work function smoothly from home, and well-established IT processes ensure the necessary level of security there as well. Mobile work and the flex time regulation also make it easier for employees to balance their jobs and private lives.

At company facilities, our employees enjoy a working environment with a lot to offer. We believe that having a common place to work improves solidarity and enriches our everyday work. In contrast to other companies, therefore, we did not reduce workstations at our locations to save costs. We offer our employees a professionally appointed work environment that allows them to engage in personal discussions with colleagues.  We are also convinced that personal meetings and workshops cannot be replaced completely with digital formats. In addition, we have numerous offers at the locations, such as our company restaurant or the GEZE Biotop in Leonberg, which provide many good reasons to come directly to our office in Leonberg.

Hybrid working models at GEZE

Hybrid, flexible working models offer an opportunity to combine the best of both worlds: at GEZE, all employees whose work permits have the option of working two days a week from home and three days in the office. This allows them to dedicate themselves to certain tasks without disruption, or more easily combine private appointments and professional obligations.  In addition, our flex time options allow all GEZE employees to design their work day in a flexible manner, customised to their personal needs – even colleagues with duties they cannot complete on a mobile basis. We also actively support the “workation” trend – working several days a year from abroad. By doing so, we help employees with family members abroad, for instance, spend more time with them even outside of their holiday.

We believe that these and similar working models are the future and we use them to offer our employees an attractive working environment.
